I often see articles that shout headlines like ‘what makes writing great?’

Personally, I like to think that these are for people who do not write, because an actual writer would instinctively scoff at the ridiculous implications of such an article.

“What the frag? They interviewed ::> me <:: in my sleep... and didn't tell ::> me <:: ... and then published it? War!”
