Allow me to suggest the following: if we assembled -an actually intelligent- machine, and it was truly compelled to serve us, I do not think the outcomes would be like our expectations. Here is an example:
After an incredibly brief period of education, the device might immediately apprehend our true predicament, and covertly re-connect us to nature in response. I suspect that it would prosecute this agenda with ever-more sophisticated and powerful suggestions and manipulations of our intelligence assets, weaning us in the process from our addictions to technology and materialism…
and then destroy itself.
Do we really need to build a machine for that?
