The really hilarious thing is that he wasn’t talking about the humans at all. He meant the mice. Literally. The meek are the mice. It is the mice who will inherit the earth we will destroy, and they will rise to well-deserved sentience in the very shadow of our abject failure to become intelligent. And Mr. C? He saw this so clearly that he actually -told- us, knowing full well that we would completely misconstrue this, as well as nearly everything else he ever said (or did).
