Whenever I notice the catastrophic rise in popularity of some media object, news story, model of reality, or figure, I am most often first reminded of visual scenes involving the relationships of dogs with excrement. Then, I may review visual and olfactory scenes involving the similar but more intimate relationship with excrement ‘enjoyed’ by flies and maggots.
That doesn’t take long. I then select something far more vital and astonishing to be interested in that the glorified sewage processing fields of the popular.
