David Brin is one of the most active -users- of facebook I know. He realizes this is a technology that will shape our future, and he is shaping it, rather than being shaped by it. This is a great example of a pro-active approach to direct, originary participation in the network. Every time I comment on one of his posts, he responds. Often at length. And he is far too busy, brilliant, and famous for that. So, kudos, Mr. Brin. I do not always share your opinions, but I can almost always learn something astonishing that radicalizes my own understanding and inspires me to further flights of wonder, learning, and public intelligence… not to mention its occasional opposite. It’s great to see someone of his stature leading with example.
