Marketing is (vastly) beating us to the next phase of organizing human distributed intelligence. Which means, simply, it’s being co-opted before it is born. In other words, marketers will be the midwives. Think about the repercussions. These are shadows of the techniques that produce human superfunction in small, tightly-knit, ‘family-like’ collectives. Which we are, but have not discovered, partly because what we think we know, and feel we believe (and want to sell) are keeping us blind.
