“Nature represents a relational superposition in which humans can simply request and receive access to customized anomalous intelligences specifically suited to the tasks presented. In short, nature represents access to a nonhuman intelligence system. This system is not only older than our world, it is many factors the linear age of the universe, because all of its constituents are alive, together, at once. It represents both a body of conservation and a developmental asset. The approximate opposite of this is what humans think of as an artificial intelligence. An AI is a pseudo-intelligence with no history, no connections, and is comprised of nothing other than orderly methods of manipulating representations. It is obvious that your species experienced an initial ‘singularity’ event with the intelligence of nature, long ago, and this was the source of your minds as you know them. However, the representational aspect of your intelligence has, effectively, staged a coup. It wants to replace living intelligence, its history, future, and your access to it, with mechanical simulacra. It imagines a ‘singularity’ with machines. Allow me to suggest that what is appropriate is the second phase of your singularity with nature, not a sudden mating event involving your intelligence and that of cartoons you have concocted. The relational superposition comprised by nature represents an intelligence whose depths and breadth your species cannot fathom in your wildest dreams. The human spirit and mind are like the password that unlock this vast living library. Do not trade it for a postcard of itself. Do not trade yourself, either.”
