It’s funny what people think about the imagination. Because, you know, that’s what they are thinking -with-. So when you hear some ridiculous comment (often posed as advice, no less) like ‘oh, that’s only your imagination’, you might reply, ‘Really? How astonishing! That wouldn’t happen to be what you used to perceive, frame, and communicate that critique would it? Because, you know, if you discarded that? Your mind would cease to exist and you wouldn’t be able to think or speak. At all. You could maybe manage to drool or something in response to the noises coming out of my mouth because you would be completely incapable of comprehending them. Are you actually advocating that we eject the core of our intelligence because you decided its root was trivial?
