The only calendar worthy of human potential and nature is the living calendar emerging from deepest intimacy with the naturally irregular cycles and rhythms of nature and living places. Time itself, is and must remain alive for us in order for us to remain alive in it. But instead we are made to obey and believe in a regularized artifact that rewards us for our compliance with isolation from nature and ourselves. The resulting confusion is irredeemable; poisoning our relationship with time is the same as poisoning our relationship with space. Only living time matters to living beings. Representational calendars are for machines, not human persons. So, too, clocks.
