I Went Faster

As far as I could see were wrecked trains.
Buildings made of horses.
Girls with hands like holy fountains.
I had a few sandwiches, and I named them after stars.
If anything was eating, there was lightning, and
when we slept, the dreams happened outside us.
Back then, a step was just as often a wing or a bone,
and a bad man could take the moon down,
hang it on a dead horse, and call himself a hero.
