A pod of dolphins will die to a member attempting to rescue a single ally who is in even moderate trouble.

But my own family does the opposite. They attack those in need. And blame them. And ignore the fact that they are dying of injury and neglect right before their eyes. They will even gladly add their own inflicted harms to the account. Or ‘rescue’ cars, dogs, televisions, wealth and entertainment options.

Sickening.

And there is a lesson in it.

I am that lesson.
