Is there a god. Well, what do we mean? I think a lot of the dominant stories and images seem fairly estranged from both reality and possibility. So, is there a fairy-tale god like in strange books? Not very likely. Might some of these stories have something to do with something that actually exists? Possibly.
Is there a web of unimaginable intelligence from which our own takes its inspiration and character, that includes somehow all moments of awareness, sentience, experience, reverie, pain, dreaming… of every being, knowing all or some of this as itself? This seems possible. It is also real to my experience of a time…
Is there a more loosely organized web of sentience that transcends time, person, being, place and situation? This also seems likely to me.
Are we expressions of something too strange to imagine in fiction or science? Yes. Is this all entirely the result of the accidental arrangement of matter and energy in a compliant spacetime continuum? Unlikely. Was it purposefully engineered by something outside itself? Also somewhat unlikely.
Could living beings, and something like souls emerge unencumbered with creation in timespace and, by their nature assemble a transapient metaposition in which they all take part? This could be happening, and might be a bit like heaven. In other words, something like god could quite easily be a ramification of the emergence of life in timespace, rather than, as we often imagine, the reverse.
Of course, the existence of something that might become thus, something that presses through into emergence in and as timespace, without precisely engineering it… this is also an interesting idea. Some expression of this entity might thus become or catalyze the emergence of life as a result of the invasive effect of its consciousness upon what was previously largely or purely brute matter/possibility.
