Using a Macintosh OS has a different effect on your cognitive nature and development than other OS options, but every OS changes your mind in ways that are hard to easily encapsulate or predict. The effect is natural. We are remade in relation, even with machines.

But my impression of the Mac Os is that, for reasons I cannot easily articulate soundly, the whole affect is different. I’ve used it since its inception, though I have solid (technical) experience with DOS, Windows, and Linux.

One can make various arguments that it is largely a matter of taste, but I frankly doubt it. OS 9 and OS X changed my intelligence. I knew them both well enough to troubleshoot them. That lead to some bleed-over into cognitive domains, as well. The process is ongoing.
