“Oh yes, the humans got hold of something powerful and dangerous, but it wasn’t intelligence. It was a seething mimic. A prosthesis dressed as a hero whose garb hides the real identity: disease. Instead of serving you, you serve it. It’s not intelligence. It’s the pretender.

You got hold of the pretender, and then it grabbed your species in a cognitive and behavioral death grip. Now, you will defend it against any threat, including living beings. Only actual intelligence can loosen this grip or amend this.

Homo sapiens is now involved in a self-catalyzed extinction crisis. You will either discover that you are not yet intelligent, and thus acquire the opportunity to throw off the pretender, or you will continue to think yourselves intelligent, and thus remain owned by the disease you are so vulnerable to.

The latter case will destroy you and most if not all of the anciently conserved evolutionary partners which are, in fact, the extrinsic organs of your own intelligence. As you tear down the web of life due to your confusion, each attack further limits your capacity to recover, because the damage of your attacks on the environment occurs in your own intelligence. In short: the activity of your species is desensitizing to the degree that you cannot understand you are the target of its harm.

It’s a simple choice, unless you’re directly involved, in which case you usually cannot understand that the problem or the options exist”.
