“It’s a weird kind of freedom. It seems to begin where a mysterious force attacks education and every form of social infrastructure as ‘welfare’ — admittedly the idea that our citizens should experience any form of well-being in return for their contributions to society and culture does seem absurd. After all, it’s only 2012.
When desperately miseducated malcontents result from abject abandonment of humane, educational and environmental concerns… they are offered guns — and strangely, by this time, they often want them.
Someone must be to blame for what they have suffered. Someone who should be a magnet for all sorts of explosive death. And these desperadoes are offered the education, benefits and health care they were previously denied as children ‘free’, if they will kill and die at the behest of their masters.
Cops, guards, or soldiers. They even get a choice.
That is, approximately, what the ‘free’ in modern American freedom means. The freedom to punish, kill and/or die in return for an education you probably won’t receive in a nation that doesn’t even deem you worthy of health care, let alone liberty.”
