Many sages have declared their peculiar surprise at the discovery of ‘the location’ of what they sought, which is commonly ascribed to something relatively equivalent to ‘right here in me/in my hand’. Now, superficially, this doesn’t seem to help us, at least, not unless we begin to realize that we have long since ceased to wonder at the ordinary, and our participation in it. What I can say is this: something extremely unexpected is afoot in the garden of our consciousness.

The nature of what we are doing when we are ‘conscious and aware’ has little likeness with our imaginings. What is actually happening is rather shocking to behold. The problem is that somehow, one has to cause the position of perspective to shift from its ordinarily internal-to-external orientation to one capable of revealing the nature and activity of perception itself. This is a strange thing to even attempt, but just about every living thing… I think… is reaching into this opportunity… directly… whether or not there is ‘consciousness’ of this.
