The identity property in mathematics serves to establish the identity of a number. In addition, the sum of a number and zero is the number in question.
We identify with beliefs, habits, and relations. Thus, we fear loss, abandonment, and death, because, effectively, we have ‘added these’ to ourselves, and our identity is now commensurate with these many additions. However, our actual identity has never been revealed or examined, thus it turns out that these identifications are habitual rather than real. Nonetheless, they are quite real to our experience, and their loss or change may severely challenge our emotional, relational, cognitive, and physical well-being.
But what would happen if we plumbed the depths of our identity without the additives. This needn’t require us to judge them, or ourselves… in any way. It only requires the intrepid desire to find the basis of identity itself, and to be present from there. Like a diver who wants to find the ocean’s bottom, or an astronaut who wants to touch the absolute distance of farthest space, there is ‘a pioneer’ within us who was born to this task.
Thus I bid you to unleash your inner pioneer, and find freedom from the vast panoply of ‘additions and subtractions’. Hidden beneath the strange accounting we are trained to is the most explosive kind of liberation-becoming. One taste of this, and you will never return to ‘the banker’s post’… for there is a way of flying within you that exceeds all physicality entirely.
Spread those wings, dreamer, and find the ancient skies of your ancestral heritage.
