Did it ever seriously occur to anyone that it might not be an accident that we use the same word for night adventures that we use to describe a hope for the future? Because it looks to me like evolution is the result of dreaming — not natural selection. It is as if dreaming drove selection… or something more like that — and not the other way around. And part of the reason it looks this way to me is that this has been my experience of living on Earth as a human person: my ‘dreaming’ (both kinds) drives my development, dramatically, and often quite directly.
