A person who, with whatever history and for whatever reasons, wanders around shouting about their greatness is quickly understood to be both tedious and tragically confused.

How much more embarrassing when it is a nation — usually accompanied by factions of its own narrowly educated citizens — yelling about the greatness whilst in every other way displaying its crudely rendered opposite.
