Amongst living things, one could reduce the modes of intelligence to two: predator/mimic and prey. As for prey, you must ask them; it is not my path.

The assets of knowledge and sensitivity acquired by those with the mind of predators are priceless — so why should they only be available to predators? Just as an unusual lamb travels amongst venomous serpents, they should not.

Predators come in a variety of forms, but ambush predators in general, and specifically those that both hunt and mimic environmental features… are amongst the most adept and inquisitive of Earth’s living intelligences.

By analogy, you might understand that the epic heroes of our myths were not emulating ‘demigods’… but ˚insects˚. Creatures like the jumping spider and the praying mantis…
