In the beginning, we were lost within a collective identity. Then, we were ejected into hyperboles of individuality and entitlement. Neither of these extremes work. The first represents a loss of personhood through dilutive immersion, the second a loss of being through having. We have become subjects of the rapacious technological fascination which has subjugated our species and planet. We are colonized.
