Black Elk tells of a time when he began to hear voices as a child. ‘I thought it was my mother calling me’. The same thing happened to me, around age 9, while a friend and I were playing ‘spaceship disaster’ in my room. The difference is, I happened to be taping it. When I later played it for my mother, her face went white. She did not call me that day. She was not anywhere near my room.
