As we have not yet developed survivable values, our laws are nothing more than a stopgap. If you have to depend upon laws to regulate the social and relational behavior of individuals, groups, and corporations — you might as well turn the planet over to them. By the time we notice and procsecute the perpetrators (and pay those costs) you and everything around you will already be nearly gone.
