A place filled with organisms is a temperature symphony. Cities, factories and other dead places have flat temperature music. The music of mediating it together is destroyed by those.

A flat temperature reading is like a mind that thinks it knows things. As the problem worsens, the one causing it quickly loses the ability to detect the problem. Their minds cook in the lethal bath of Celsius and Fahrenheit.”
