As a child, the full beingness and ‘personalities’ of plants, insects and creatures were profoundly apparent to me, and directly accessible to my awareness. Before I was capable of speaking, all of this was obvious and familiar to me.
As I was indoctrinated, in school, and by exposure to others… to suppose that humans were ‘superior’, I faced a profound conflict, internally. For a time, the indoctrinations prevailed, I became, like other humans, filled with anthrocentric hubris.
But that phase did not last long.
I then realized that there are, effectively, ‘different species’ of humans. There is a continuum, effectively, across which this indoctrination is differently evinced.
I belong to the branch of humans that fully recognizes the existence of other intelligences here on Earth. They are called organisms. I also belong to the species that recognizes that features of the universe like the sun and our world, are not merely beings like us. They are beings whose nature is vastly transcendental to, and productive of… ours. Not merely as progenitors… moment to moment, in every aspect of our existence.
To say that I have always felt different than nearly all the humans I came across is a vast understatement. I am, to common humans, like them only in form.
There are human beings that are like aliens or UFOs. One does not need to look to the sky for evidence of the beyond of human knowledge and its systems. It’s right here, all around, within, before and after us. It’s alive, for a time at least, in the eyes of our infants. In the bird, the bee, the snake, the octopus, the housefly.
In the mountain. The Oak tree. The dandelion.
The humans do not know what they are. Their conceptions of Nature are too absurd to entertain. Though there are unique individual exceptions…their ‘advancements’ resemble someone who has intentionally covered their eyes, playing with a flashlight in a prison cell they erected with their own hands.
I, too, do not know what I am. But the way this is unknown to me… is of another order. I am that mystery, alive. Rather than merely, complexly, ‘traditionally’ and intentionally occluded.
