‘We’ refers, in modernity, most commonly to something that’s actually missing, because it was never actively assembled, instructed, nurtured or sustained.

Recognizing this opens onto the possibility space of actual ‘we’ groups that can have effective impact on the situations faced by those of us who long for and suppose a unity that has not yet been established, or has been counterfeited.

For example, ‘we’ ( who are not yet any actual group ) seem to suppose that posts on facebook represent effective action, when, in point of fact, what mostly happens is that these posts consume the inspiration and corrective intelligence that might otherwise have been realized in effective, actual-group action.
