“Interesting (to use the cliche), but seriously… even in Blackfoot mythology, I see the male/female dichotomy… and in the Sun/Moon stories, the (male) Sun seeks to ‘sever’ the (female) Moon into pieces, objects, that can ideally be controlled (although it is never successful, even in the stories). You may be interested to know that in the earliest Sun/Moon story, I find “cloning”… and it’s feminine, and so perhaps no surprise that our cultures fear it today. I also see in this dichotomy a structural connection to metaphor/metonymy, our core cognition… similitude/part-for-whole. In here somewhere is, I believe, our answer for the issue with the snake”
