Unfortunately, I watched Alien: Romulus. Absolute garbage. Cookie-cutter would have been an improvement. Not worth 12 seconds of attention.

Fortunately, I have been enjoying Miss Scarlet, and Detective Anna on Amazon Prime. I love me some women showing men up detective films. Like the whole genre of female heroes, actually. Both of these are relatively good, so far. Acting and story is good, scenes don’t scream ‘Computer Generated’ (yet).

I remember when I first discovered stunt doubles and couldn’t unsee them in shows I loved. Wrecked it for me.

But even worse was discovering ‘the actor’s kiss’, which completely ruined nearly every scene of kissing thereafter. Sometimes not, because either they are actually kissing or they’re so damn good at it that you can’t tell even though you know…
