Doing laundry and listening to Vervake and Peterson, Peterson keeps interrupting Vervake to impose Christic vernacular, which is a bit annoying, but not entirely ungenerative. They spoke about a pre-Descartian perspective on the mind, which is that rather than representing (creating an abstract manipulable in cognition), there’s a way where the mind is »reforged in a kind of form, or an array of forms, including an active »between that is indicative of what happens, for example, when one ‘sees’ a cup, and then looks away while picking it up with the hand. The mind partly ‘becomes like the cup’, and the metaphor there is resonant for its unexpected extension into the mind ‘as container’. This representation fails, here, however, because the mind, rather than containment … recreates, merges, falls apart, disappears, reforges… and… eventually… »dreams.
