“Our arguments over climate conveniently obscure a range of deadly oversights. The ongoing ‘deep toxicification’ of the biosphere (and every living animal), the rabid progress of ideologies that treat organisms as objects, and our nearly complete myopia regarding the actual costs of our stylish technology addictions which, it turns out, equate to ‘everything’.
The popular “solutions” message in the climate discourse dead-ends in a “take less” mantra. There is no intention, inferred or otherwise, to work toward reciprocal relationships (symbiosis), nor to confront the technology addiction. It’s all still unidirectional, with a proposed refinement of the drug that nobody is really interested in investing in.”
