There are many essential aspects or elements of active humanity. But two stand out to me at the moment. The first is meaningful relationships. What do I mean by meaningful? Deep, rich, playing, creative… sensitive… and intelligent.

But the second is a bit stranger: we need meaningful »roles. And we have to invent those; there are too few on offer on the shelves of modernity… and most of those are pre-compromised.

By learning about these two things… we can recover the potential for lives rich enough to merit the word. Without them, we are not merely lost… we are enslaved.
