Someone posted about ‘people’ being opposed to revolution because it’s too violent, yet enduring all kinds of endemic violence. Not sure who ‘people’ are in that proposition, but it’s natural, too. This is all a mess of generalizations. Still, there’s something underneath them..

There are different layers or forms of violence, and the kind everyone is used to is highly distributed, subtle (where it’s hidden, which it usually is), and distant.

The other kind is in your face, kill your family kind of violence. Very few would choose the latter, even if there was the possibility it might mediate or resolve the former.

Also: no one has yet introduced the kinds of revolution that would actually affect the former problem dramatically, while also failing to breed new forms of atrocity.

Our species is inclined to social retrogression, and this is radically enhanced by our technologies and the imperatives of the false societies we are enmeshed in.
