If you can begin… to match the ‘living silence’ of the tree, or the swallow, or the gopher… something fundamental shifts in a dimension we only have strange stories of. It’s not my goal to explain this. I wish instead to recognize an ancient invitation.

There are languages that all living beings speak and understand together. Or rather, there are ‘strange opposites of language’ — unique »modes of silence.

If you can begin to match up with the living silence inside the tree or living place, something will change. Something profound. And sometimes, an exchange takes place. The tree will plant a silent seed within you.

This is the seed of a mind.

A mind unlike anything we can ordinarily imagine.

If nurtured, it will sprout, and grow… and then, within, you will have… a companion intelligence… that is not human.
