The sensitivity phenotypes (unique local conservations/expressions) of humans only crudely resemble our common ideas, which are mostly models derived from »averages.
While I wouldn’t arbitrarily dispose of this form of modeling, it’s nearly useless in any actual context with actual people because it cannot characterize actual situations. It’s about theoretical ‘normals’.
And it’s disastrous for everyone when the models of the »average become the »expected … and this is an incredibly toxic aspect of our modern cultures (that mostly aren’t) and societies (that mostly aren’t).
I think we should be extremely suspicious of ‘norms’ acquired from our modern anti-cultures… in a way that is sensitive and aware, rather than dictated by rules or declarations. Many of the ‘normalizing’ signals we get today are actually largely mimetic. Their origins are mimicking virtues that are the actual opposite of the results not merely of their activities, but their motivations as well.
