There’s this problem where the momentum of an entirely (and intentionally) corrupt system is exerted towards not only its survival, but its ongoing domination of frameworks and contexts.

We cannot vote our way out of a trap that is encompassed by the systems that must be done away with for our actual desires and needs to be addressed.

The radical transformations of the world and ‘society’ (it never really was, except in very limited and bizarre senses) over the past few years, and especially this year, are, at least in part, the result of the collapse of the layered arrays of lethal fictions our human lives have long been bound up in.

One way to view this change is surprisingly simple: the fictions ripped, and now, humans will be directly involved in the repercussions of the malignant harm-hiding that has been endemic to our species since at least the industrial revolution — and was accelerated and propagated by the introduction of computing and other technologies.

We had a kind of fake immunity to the effects of ‘hiding the damage’ in the poor, the environment (voiceless in language) and the history and future of both our species and Life on Earth. That fake immunity has shattered, and the actual pragmatic repercussions of our long hypnosis will now include everyone on Earth, however uniquely, locally, or regionally their emergence into common awareness.

It’s as if there’s a flood, really. A flood of repercussions that the institutions and leaders, the ‘political’ and corporate ‘fake societies’ were all betting could continue to be concealed, lied about, or re-framed as opportunity. But the actual situation, while fraught with opportunity, is extremely dire over even the short term. The lies and false assertions our actual circumstance is founded upon can only survive in a new form that resembles a kind of schizogenic, multi-modal trance-state — extreme, fanatical commitment to a new generation of fictions. Not awakening, but direct, intentional departure from sense-making, masquerading as intelligence, insight, awareness or understanding.

Unless and until we do something else, together. Something compelling enough to outcompete the effectively demonic behaviors that have, till now, prevailed. It’s not beyond the grasp of the common people, but it’s far outside their present capabilities. We have plenty of experience subscribing to fictions of invulnerability, and nearly none at establishing social and relational frameworks whose basis is integrity and whose purposes are reliably free of the poisons that, like a chemical addiction, have driven our species to the brink of madness and war… and beyond.
