Allow me to suggest that human beings are incredibly sensitive to two elemental experiences:

1. Surveillance (observation)

2. Feedback (our minds are made of this)

As children we are constantly seeking the opportunity to experience emotionally and creatively nourishing positive participation/observation experiences. This is (to a large degree) what ‘play’ is about.

Under the encouraging/reassuring presence of positive observation in desirable relationships — we flourish and move into and beyond ‘ordinary’ unity.

Under judgemental, critical, or manipulative observational experience… we fragment. Internally, socially, even metabolically.

Understanding this simple feature of our nature could point the direction toward a selection of futures that are not merely survivable, but enjoyable.

Failing to understand this, or complying with other imperatives… is catastrophic to every aspect of our humanity; personal, societal… environmental… and integral.

We are animals that depend upon feedback. Change the flavors of this feedback, and human behavior — and interiority — naturally follows suit.
