Double-footed: To be depending on both feet for balance, somewhat equally, at the same time (in the sense of t’ai chi tui shou) ; to have the weight in both feet.

Analogously, to be involved in a relationship or activity in which one is not internally unified; to be being or doing something that is, for example partly desirable and partly abhorrent.

In this case one’s own relationship with intention, balance, the earth, and one’s own feet become conflicted. The basis is divided … yet »seems to balance.
