“We have a priority problem that goes to the roots of our abject failure to establish anything like human intelligence, progress … or civilization. And it looks a lot like feverishly attending every representation of progress or heroism… while doing and becoming the opposite. Powerless spectators at the decimation of a world. Opinionated objectors. ‘Spirit’ delusion.
Our problem is simple: our ‘societies’ and their components are intentionally unaware of the purposive nature of life on Earth and how deadly our failure to develop anything like intelligence actually is. On the other side of that coin lies our actual potentials. Face down in the soil of our addiction to passive ‘spectator’ status.
Today, at least 1,000,000 people spent 6 hours watching a baseball game. That’s 6 million hours we spent watching sweating primates beat a representational enemy — that didn’t even exist.
What could we do with 6 million man-hours… that isn’t baseball… but is, instead… »what baseball represents: the mutually heroic pursuit of otherwise impossible excellence for a purpose as noble and true as it is human and self-correcting.
A purpose like our planet.”
