So, the other day at the huge entrance Cypress in a nearby garden, I was observing the bees in the tree when, far below, near the ground, something caught my eye.
Initially, I was dumbfounded, because I have never seen anything like this. There is a tube of webbing that’s about 1 inch deep (2 tubes, actually, one above). And, inside it, is what appears to be an egg or egg case — a bit larger than a coffee bean…
This is a huge mystery to me… completely unique in my experience. Any hints or ideas welcome.
