∞ ‘The Constellations’ are a fiction of linguistic convenience. Each people throughout history had unique relationships with the sky, and many had unique lexicons of constellations. We must imagine something further: that people, somewhen, somewhere (and probably still, today) had an skill of another order: »constellating.
That is to say, people who, having brought the entire sky within their mind, and relating with it »as memory, were able to spontaneously establish and sustain many different forms and structures of constellations… each for unique purposes, and also as a form of incredibly advanced »memory play.
What is left to us, who have never imagined such minds, is a single lexicon we pose as universal and relatively concrete. This lexicon is the skeletal remains of the lost books of the sky, and more, of those who acquired the skill of »writing them within.
What was remembered alive in the lost books of the sky? Could it in fact, be written… in us?
