“Two men went on a quest to find the lamp in which a wish-granting genie was trapped. As they opened it together, they lost the third wish. Each was granted one, instead.

The second man was cunning. He wished for an unlimited number of wish-granting genies. His story continued, and he gained many things and powers… but he was destroyed by his wish.

The first man gave up his wish. “Let my wish fall to the person who most desperately needs it. Grant this person’s wish, instead.” A thunder was heard in the distance, and a single ray of light fell upon him. As it reached him, he became intimate with the origins of birth and death, time and light. These became his dear friends. After this, he had no need of wishing.”
