It’s my experience that thoughts and thinking… conceptual/verbal activity… is most often a deflection of participation in reality. In fact, at least for me, the moment I begin writing or speaking, my mind changes… dramatically. It isn’t that I inherently mistrust this, rather, I notice that the product is an artifact. A toy, tool, or explanation.

From this perspective, and, again, from my experience, I am aware that talking and thinking are incredibly deceptive. I do not believe that our ideas, theories and explanations are much like experience or reality at all; it seems, instead, they replace it with familiar frameworks and schemas to which I have become habituated, usually unconsciously.

What is direct experience of relation or ‘reality’ like? This cannot be framed in words, but it is far more akin to dreaming than it is to thinking… or so it seems to me.
