“Our species is the only example of a formally representational cognitive on Earth. We need to understand the history, dangers and potentials of this status, instead of falling off into the myriad ‘product making’ branches of its constructive powers.
Our form of animal depends on a meroymic web to establish identity, categories, meaning, value and comparison in language. Where this web is damaged, our intelligence turns into its opposite and attacks itself. Where we can repair it, this process is inhibited or reversed. This web has central pivots. One of them is ‘what an animal is’ and another, of course, is ‘what a human is’.
I here show some unusual features, dangers and opportunities related to these matters.”
