All brains (and minds and nervous systems) are »always in developmental efflorescence. Children are simply doing it faster and more deeply.

So the issue isn’t ‘just for kids’ — and our society has a myth that many things that harm children’s minds or bodies ‘aren’t really an issue for adults’. Not so. And sometimes more so, though there may be the occasional exception.

This isn’t one.

What »is true is that the younger the child, the more severe the effects are likely to be, since youth in children is essentially an indicator of both vulnerability and speed of development.

As an aside: breast tissue is a ‘rapidly developing’ tissue that is a bit like ‘a permanent child’ in women’s bodies.
