We do not realize that statistically, worlds that can support life long-term could be relatively rare. Ours is, and long has been, a paradise compared to what we must imagine are the life situations on many other arguably ‘habitable’ worlds. The same is true of our Sun; it is incredibly stable. Almost uncannily so.
