Reactivism: The viralized propagation of invective and the opposites of intelligent union or action in persons and groups. Reactivism thrives upon outrage, helplessness, factioning, isolation, and ‘opinion-pimping’. It’s symptoms are replicated media objects and adopted ‘positions’ that have nothing whatsoever to do with anything but their further propagation.
The results of reactivism are always ironic: they directly support, empower, fund and actively nourish what they superficially appear to be ‘protests against’. This is a Potemkin Village gambit, and it requires that those involved first be ‘puppeted’: that is, deprived of personhood, intelligence, agency, insight, and the possibilities of effective reply or response.
With less attention than we will spend feeling outraged about these matters and replicating media objects, we could change the planet and put an end to this forever. Right now.
