There are exceptions, but I have to say that the cultural projection of the modern woman is bizarre and terrifying. Modern ‘fashion’ portrays women as sex-clown-seductresses — poseable manikins whose acts and accoutrements signify socio-financial status. The results are cripplingly mysogenistic, ugly, and continue to find new domains of the human or the feminine to corrupt, co-opt, or re-present for profit, degradation, and control. I am as modern as the rest of the world, and I can recognize the semblance of beauty in the desperate representations of it, and even respond — yet such response is not half true, and is always had … not with actual people or relationships … but with representations and styles of them… instead.

I think we imagine that the harm find purchase primarily or only in women and is ‘perpetrated’ by ‘men’. Yet, a closer examination reveals that both genders are being catastrophically harmed because they each contain and emerge from each other. The men are simply unable to clearly see or speak about this, or the damage inside them. And that is an aspect of their role in the situation.
