I, probably much like you, adore art. I think that ‘art about nature… used to be crucial, evocative, and beautiful. But that was in an age where -it could not reproduce madly, explosively, and lethally-.
Now? It is something else entirely. And that something is neither art, nor “good’, at all.
I ‘like’ these artifacts. And I ‘want’ them. Too. But I must not obtain or even celebrate them.
Why?
What is the environmental cost of -each celebration- of nature that -costs the lives of those it appears to celebrate- instead of… insuring their existence?
Well, ask yourself the same question about human intelligence.
And then: look around, and look close.
That is the cost.
Graveyards. Forever.
P.S: The cash-cost of these is nearly $500.00 US.
Like machines, however, what is the cost -in attention- or lives? Now, and in the future? We do not ask this question. Why not? We would be immediately revealed as murderers. Omnicides, actually.
Think about what (anyone with living intelligence) could do with not only with those lost or -reversed- investments… but with the -impossible evolutionary, relational, and deveopmental ‘interest’ that comes -with intelligent investment-… to save nature… or human lives. Or even… to establish the modes of intelligence and relation that will not only preserve, but radically evolve them.
This is art VS life.
Right now.
