I’ll tell you a little secret. If your species starts doing something that generally attacks its intelligence and becomes addicted to this? Two effects follow rapidly: the first is that it usually rapidly exacerbates this behavior in a conflicted effort to signal the subconscious recognition that the behavior is lethal. The second is that there is only a tiny window where the problem can be detected. After a few iterations the remaining intelligence assets are insufficient to detect or amend the problem, which has, in most cases, directly co-opted their roots.
And guess what? Attacking ecosystems is -precisely- this behavior. And we are addicted. And we are haven’t actually noticed that human intelligence and health are plummeting (in fact, science will often scream otherwise with antiquated and manipulated statistics)… in direct relationships to the health of our environments. We were not originally equipped to understand the impact of our industrial, technological, commercial and radiological activities. The impact was on us. It still is. There is nowhere else for it to land.
Human health and intelligence -are the living produce of complex, anciently conserved relational environments-. We are not progressing as we rip these apart and shotgun every organism on the planet with toxic, hormone and endocrine modulating chemistries and radioactive artifacts. This leaves aside noise, light, and endless radio, microwave and other transmission technologies which we are now buried in. We are not only not paying attention, we no longer have the assets required to -see how to pay attention or what to pay attention to-.
This isn’t a slippery slide, it’s a -lethal- slide. If you -ever touch the top- you’re dead. It just takes a little time for the effects to combine, feedback, and absolutely rip your health and mind to bits. What are the causes? Our heroes. We should prepare a headstone for our species that simply contains 7 words:
Language
War
Science
Religion
Technology
Commerce
Materialism
At the order of the collectives, there is precious little understanding of this matter. But as individuals and small groups, the story is not yet over. The battle has actually already been lost; but what we do yet matters, for the next phase will obliterate the remaining nurseries of our humanity and animalian basis. We must continue to find ways to transform -at the level of our collectives-. Radically, intelligently, and effectively. Now.
