I find it fascinating that people who are concerned with population control never consider controlling the population of machines… or data. What this means, actually, is that machines and data matter. And you? You don’t. This isn’t a literary trope. It’s a fact. They will house cars -before- they will house you or your children. All the time. Forever. Your data will not starve for electricity or attention. It will be coddled while, right outside, you freeze to death. And no one will even consider this unusual. In fact, they will -expect- it.
